About US

Our school is a co-educational institution dedicated to providing a holistic education to students from preschool to secondary school level. We strive to create a nurturing environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity, and character development. We offer full service school, which includes curriculum- based classroom learning, from crèche to Nursery, Nursery to primary, primary to senior secondary. We also offer mentoring programs for school learners, exercise and text books service, exclusive boarding school service, etc. We are approved to write the basic education certificate examination (BECE) for junior secondary 3 (Basic 9), WAEC and NECO for senior secondary including JAMB with a JAMB accredited CBT centre. We have created an environment where learning and academic achievement can occur.

Inspirational and Home Learning

Our outstanding curriculum offers an exciting, rich, varied and broad course of study, which helps to develop learners’ skills for all aspects of learning. We work hard to create a sense of excitement and an enthusiasm for lifelong learning and to ensure that every learner achieve all requirement in their external exams so that they can go on to college and to university.

"Strong relationships create a climate which helps students to feel very secure, and one in which they can be brave and risk failure without fear.”

Homework is integral to students’ learning because it provides them with opportunities to consolidate their achievement and develop skills of self-discipline and independent study.

Every student is given a homework timetable and individual planner at the start of the academic year so that they can organize their workload on their own. Parents and guardians are also given a copy of the timetable so that they can help with their child’s/ward’s progress. We ask all parents and guardians to encourage their child/ward to complete their homework, and to check and sign their child’s/ward’s planner on a weekly basis.

Supportive Staffs

Every member of staff at GOSA is a committed and experienced professional, dedicated to developing students’ interests and inspiring them to be successful. Our Inclusion Management has a team of enthusiastic staff who ensure that the learning, language, emotional and behavioral needs of all students is met in the way best for them.

“All the staff within the school knows their students exceptionally well. Individual students talk about the school and its staff, feeling like a one big family.”

Our Shared Values

Our values are at the heart of everything that we do. Every member of GOSA’s community is expected to uphold and support our shared values.

We will

  • Believe in ourselves, try our best and have pride in everything that we do.
  • Encourage and support each other at all times.
  • Be polite and respect people for who they are, embrace diversity and celebrate our differences.

"The behavior of students is outstanding…Students’ positive behavior within the school contributes significantly to progress and this link is clearly understood by the students."

High Expectations

Staffs have the highest ambitions for and expectations of our students in all aspects of school life by working hard to develop these qualities in every student. Our code of conduct clearly sets out our expectations and has a structured system of rewards and sanctions which promotes high standards of work and behavior both on and off the school premises.

“Strong relationships between all staffs and students contribute to an outstanding ethos and culture of learning. Teachers have excellent subject knowledge and a huge enthusiasm for passing on this knowledge. In turn, this is matched by students’ passion to learn.”

Strong Partnerships with Parents/Guardians

At GOSA we place strong importance on the involvement of parents and guardians in their child’s/ward’s education and in the life of the school. We believe that co-operation between home and school is the key to academic success. Parental involvement begins with student induction and regular contact continues through the student planner, reports on students’ progress, consultation meetings, academic review days (open-day), newsletters and the school website. Parents and guardians are also invited to celebrate their child’s successes and/or graduation with a variety of school performances and events at the end of the section.

“The school has worked hard to build links with parents and guardians.
Great efforts are made to ensure that the school listens to the parents and guardians.”

Strong Partnerships with Schools, External Examination Bodies & Universities

As a recognized National Support School we share our skills with schools locally and nationally. We are also building and developing partnerships with our local primary schools and the community, by organizing scholarship examination to those leaving primary schools. To ensure that children are supported as they make the change from primary to secondary school. We work with JAMB to support and register our students and students around the community (far and wide), we also offer them with a conducive Computer Based Test (C.B.T) Center to write JAMB examination that will enable them gain admission into their choice of various universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and institutions, so as to progress in furtherance of their education and career advancement. We have close links with JAMB and all students have the opportunity to take part in the Career day to learn more about higher education and the career pathways open to them.

The school met all standards with thorough inspection as stipulated by the Nasarawa State Ministry of Education to run Crèche, Reception (Nursery), Elementary (Primary), Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary School. Also, GOSA has met all standards with examination bodies after thorough inspections which have brought about the approval for BECE, WAEC and NECO Centre for over 10 years now and a JAMB Accredited CBT Centre since 2016. We have written WAEC &NECO 10  since 2009 of which over the years we have gotten 95% to 98% pass with credits and distinctions.

Strong Partnerships with the Surrounding Community (CSR)

The school has been running since 1999 and in that time we have graduated over 1,000 students of final year (SS 3) since 2009.

On corporate social responsibility, we have created a GOSA FOUNDATION controlled by the school management that organizes entrance and scholarship examination into JSS 1. This offers 100% scholarships to the 1st position winner and other scholarship discount to the 2nd and 3rd position winners for the first term of JSS 1. The foundation also offers 100% scholarship on tuition fees for 1 out of 5 children from one parent bearing one family name, 50% scholarship on tuition fees for 1 out of 4 children from one parent bearing one family name. In addition, certain percentages of scholarship by the decision of the management have been given to some students who have lost their parents while in school, to mention but few. Similarly, we have been consistent in paying salaries without delays as at when due, giving bonuses for staff motivation and discount to staff’s children on tuition fees. We aspire to even do better in coming years.

“Community partnerships are outstanding. The school regularly hosts visitors and provides scholarship examination for other primary schools, simply to add value to the community.”
